A Fabulous Weekend With Friends

As you all know, I traveled to Houston this weekend to visit one of my long time friends. We had such a great time visiting with one another. Although we are super busy and have trouble finding time to talk, seeing her never feels like we haven’t talked for a while.

Day 1: On Saturday night we went out to dinner and since we can’t eat meat on Fridays during the Lenten season, we opted for seafood at a delicious Cajun/seafood restaurant called The Rouxpour. After that she took us to a few bars to have some yummy cocktails before heading home to rest our pretty little heads before the big day on Saturday.

Day 2: Today was the day I finally got to go to NASA! We get up bright and early to get ready for our 45 minute trip to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center! And when I say “we” got up early I really mean I got up early and woke the other two up, much to their disappointment I’m sure. We stopped by Fuddruckers for a quick lunch before heading over. We were all craving burgers and literally screamed with excitement when we saw the Fuddruckers sign right across the street from the space center entrance.

We visited Space Center Houston after lunch, and let me tell you, I was really excited. Although the center was definitely child-oriented, I still found some of the exhibits pretty cool. We took a tram tour around the NASA grounds where we stopped by Mission Control, Rocket Park, and the hangar where they keep the Saturn Rocket that helped Apollo 11 into space! Pretty darn cool. Check out the slideshow below to see what we saw.

After we toured NASA we headed home. We were exhausted from the day’s exploring so we opted to stay in and cook dinner and watch a scary movie. We ended up making crispy chicken with bow tie pasta in a creamy sauce. (Check out what we made at Twin Cookin’).

Day 3: Once again, we woke up early to get a head start on our long trip back home. BF is from a city right outside of Houston, so we took a little detour and visited his parents and brother for a few hours before heading back up. His mom made an amazing lunch! I liked it so much she gave me the recipe, so be sure and stay tuned for the upcoming post on Twin Cookin’!

After 5 and a half hours of driving, BF and I are finally home. It was a really short weekend, but we had such a good time. I can’t wait for the next road trip!
