This week has gone by pretty quickly. ‘Hump Day’ is practically over and, before you know it, the weekend will have come and gone. I’m headed out of town for a couple of days so posts will be nonexistent for a while, but before I leave I wanted to share with you all one of the funnier moments of my internship.
Last Friday, the Chamber staff took a field trip to the San Antonio Museum of Art. We enjoyed lunch at the delicious Cafe des Artistes, and then split off into tour groups around the museum. After the tour we headed over to the Emily Morgan Hotel for happy hour. It was 2:30 in the afternoon when our happy hour began. Let me just say, we all had a blast. It was a fabulous way to end the week.
Rewind to 11:30 a.m. when we were suppose to all carpool from the Chamber to the museum. I was supposed to meet the staff at work so I could carpool with someone over to the museum since I don’t work on Fridays. Since I don’t have a parking pass I have to park in the garage which is about a 4 minute walk from the Chamber. As I’m walking towards the building I see cars pulling out of the parking lot. Grant it, I was a little late, but I didn’t think they’d be so prompt! I start running down the street waving my arms above my head trying to get their attention so they could stop and give me a ride. I finally get to the cars only to find that there was no room for me.
“Wait,” says one of my co-workers. “She has a car seat. I’ll sit in the car seat. We can just squish in.” Since I was the late one, I offered to squeeze into the child car seat. Sadly enough, I actually FIT in the car seat with head room and feet room to spare.
Take a look at the image below:
This is how I rode down to the museum. All of us in the car were laughing so hard at the fact that a 22-year-old woman could fit in to a car seat made for toddlers.
The life of a Chamber intern.
