Uncorked Texas: The New Kid On the Block

I love to blog, and hopefully by now that’s clear. I especially love hearing that my blogging has influenced others to start their own blogs. Case in point: BF! Now, he hasn’t admitted that he started his blog because of me, but I know I had to have inspired him ūüėČ Right…. right?!

My Favorite Reads: September Edition

It’s September’s edition of “My Favorite Reads”. I’m still in the process of reading Beneath the Marble Sky and I am loving it! It’s taken me a little while to get through it only because I haven’t had much time to read lately, not because it is bad. I’ll most likely suggest this book in […]

Teen Commandments

We had a topic on Great Day SA Wednesday about the ‘Teen Commandments”, ten rules to live by when raising or living with a teenager. Reading through the commandments made me reminisce over my teen years. Some of the commandments, I thought, made sense now having looked back. Others didn’t really apply to me. But […]

Eavesdropping: We All Do It

Don’t freak out, but I’m sitting in a hospital waiting room writing this post. I’m waiting on a family member who underwent minor surgery this morning. No big deal. The doctor already told me it went perfectly. Good stuff. While I’ve been waiting, families have come and gone, content with the news they’ve heard from […]

One of my Favorite Things: July

Since I started my monthly book recommendation article, I figured I’d start another¬†recurring¬†post: my favorite things. Although not nearly as expensive as Oprah’s My Favorite Things lists, my “list” will only consist of my favorite thing for the month. I guess it’s really not a list, but a bullet point. Regardless, I figured this might […]

Addiction to the Internet

I experienced a few hours of pure panic recently and I really thought I was going to die. Ok, not really, but I did get all scared. My heart began to beat faster, my face became flushed, my stomach dropped. Why?

It’s Hot, Hot, Hot!

It’s official. Summer has begun and the temperature is just a testament¬†to how miserable Texas summers can be from the get-go. I’m looking at my weather app on my phone and it reads 88 degrees which I think is a big lie¬†since the high today is supposed to reach¬†100 degrees. Walking from the garage to […]

Call Me Never

I thought it was catchy at first, but now it’s just plain annoying. I find myself singing it in the shower, while I play tennis, before I go to bed. It’s wrong. The new hit song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen has been¬†blowing up the music¬†charts these past couple of months thanks to […]

My Favorite Reads: June Edition

I love to read. Love. Almost every night before I fall asleep I try to read at least a chapter in whatever I’m book I have at the time. Over the past 11 years I’ve kept a little journal of all the books I have read. Although I’ve forgotten to put a few in the […]

Interpret Your Dreams

“A dream is a wish your heart makes when your fast asleep” (Cinderella 1950). Or is it? I have strange dreams. Really strange dreams. One minute I’m on the roof of a skyscraper that’s teetering left to right and the next minute I’m floating on the ceilings throughout my house. The more I think about […]
