Boyfriend is getting ready to leave on a study abroad trip for grad school and I can’t help but feel 1) nervous about him going to South America and 2) a little jealous that he gets to go on vacation. I wanna go! I wanna go! Continue reading

Preaching Door to Door

Yesterday afternoon, something strange happened. I had just gotten out of the shower after a few hours of laying out in the sun and was settling down for a relaxing Sunday evening when I heard a knock at the door.

It wasn’t just any kind of knock, though. It was a rhythmic knock as if the person on the other side was familiar with me. A friendly knock, you could say. I figured it was BF coming over to hang out because he was bored.

I checked the peephole since I wasn’t expecting anyone. I noticed that the man at the door was not BF, but a young gentleman in business clothes.

Uh….. I’m not going to open the door. Continue reading

Blanking

I haven’t had much to write about lately. I hate it when that happens. Writer’s block always hits me at inopportune times.

I always feel like I leave y’all in the dust with no hope for tomorrow when you don’t have a post to open from Green Eggs and Sam! Ok, that’s a little dramatic. However, I know you guys subscribe to read this for a reason and that’s (hopefully) my writing, and when I don’t write I feel like I’m doing you a diservice. We certainly don’t want that. A Remedy for Anxiety

If you’ve been following along with Green Eggs and Sam, you know that I’m a pretty anxious person. Not by choice. I blame society! (Don’t we all?)

Recently I was given an herbal remedy by my family’s long-time housekeeper. She is well-versed in homeopathic remedy’s and using natural ingredients to heal aches, pains, and illnesses. It really is neat if you ask me. Which you didn’t, but I’m gonna tell you anyway. She is also a midwife to mothers looking to go au naturale for the birthing process. (NO THANK YOU!)

Fried Cat Tail

Gino post experience. Isn't he cute?!

Gino post experience.

The second I heard this story I knew I had to put this in the blog. It was just that priceless, and although it did not happen to me, it is still worthy of recognition.

Sit down. You’ll probably need to…

Yesterday morning I received a phone call from Twin Sis. Kind of odd since she hardly calls me in the morning unless its to tell me I need to do something… (JK). But, it was strange. Continue reading

Moving Out, Moving On

Boxes, boxes everywhere. (Excuse the picture quality.)

Boxes, boxes everywhere. (Excuse the picture quality.)

This past week has been a whirlwind. Last Saturday I moved out of my parents house. It was a mixture of emotions, however. A combination of ‘finally, *sigh*’ and ‘Mommy!’.

I’ve wanted to move out for a while since the thrill of living on my own while in college still lingered. I’m excited, yet scared. Determined, yet dependent. I don’t know whether those are good things or bad things, but I figure ‘normal’ would be a good way to describe it. Continue reading

Happy Birthday, Sammy

On March 31, 2013 (that’d be Easter Sunday) around 3 PM, my older sister’s water broke during Easter lunch marking the beginning of the end of her pregnancy. Long story short, we all packed up our things and headed to the hospital where we waited for 10 hours before Little Sammy entered the world just an hour and a half into April 1st.  Continue reading

Little Luna Gets Her Diploma

Last Sunday Luna completed her puppy classes. After 6 weeks of training and practicing, Luna passed her puppy test and received her diploma. Yes, she got a diploma.

To be honest, I wasn’t worried about Luna passing her test because Luna does anything for a treat, and she knew she’d be getting them if she followed along. Unfortunately, we are still working on how to “leave” things on the floor like pillows, furniture, random food droppings. She failed that part of the test, but I expected that. She was the only dog that actually got a piece of the “forbidden food” during the test but, I take partial blame since I couldn’t tell she had gotten it until after it was in her mouth.  Continue reading

DIM= Do it Myself

I realize it’s been way to long since I’ve written a post. A mixture of work, laziness, and unfortunate life events have all contributed to my recent lack of writing for Green Eggs and Sam. However, this morning, as I lay in my PJs on the couch nurturing a sore throat and tummy ache, I decided now is as good a time as any to list out some of the DIY projects I’ve wanted to try for my upcoming move. (Keyword: want. Whether it actually will happen is yet to be determined.)

I’m moving to a new apartment in April and really want to try my best to capture a “vintage shabby chic” theme. What the heck is “vintage shabby chic?” Continue reading
